It’s hard…

…not to make fun of the people that are on my kids’ shows. I saw a commercial for the High School Musical 3 movie. I wanted to make fun of the naked pics that the girl had made for her costar/boyfriend. They didn’t know anything about it and I wanted to keep it that way. So, to give me an outlet, I am posting this:

We just got back from Hancock. I enjoyed it and I don’t know what some of the critics’ problems were. Maybe they wouldn’t be so critical if they stopped calling themselves critics. How about “other that see movies and get paid to say crap”?

I am hoping to see The Dark Knight on IMAX this Friday.

I was somewhat productive today by mowing the backyard and cleaning the vehicles. Time to work on some websites.

Things to accomplish:

  • Find Ubuntu driver for video card so I can complete the transfer to Ubuntu

Let’s see if I can keep this going.

I have decided to see if I can keep blogging without having to take a trip to do it. Right now I have last week’s The Middleman episode playing. I actually like the series. It is new and quirky. I seem to like quirky right now. Shows like In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, Monk, Psych, and others are on the list to record on the ol’ DVR.

Tomorrow the family is planning on biking in the morning with lawn mowing and grocery shopping afterwards. Later will be gymnastics practice for the kids.

In listening to the kids, they seem to have had a good time on the trip we just took. Parker finally learned what a Monchhichi is and why I have always said he looks like one Here is a pic Lani took in the Japan section of the World Showcase in Epcot:

I figure I should post one pic of the whole family from the trip. There weren’t many considering either Lani or I were taking the pics.

That was from Fulton’s Crabhouse with the best meal of the week. It is in Downtown Disney and if you are down there, go eat there. It is VERY good.

Our newest nephew, Benji, had a birthday party today at Ray & Linda’s house. Meatballs were had by all. He is now one year old.

I have been feeling a buzzing in the couch and I couldn’t figure out what it was until I just looked over. Carmen has fallen asleep and she is snoring into the couch. I should put her to bed.

I think I’ll end each post with things that I want to accomplish whether it is a week, during summer break, or just at some point.

Things to accomplish:

  • Replace back doors
  • Transfer more LPs to mp3s
  • Learn more Spanish

Orlando 2008 – Day 7 – Universal Studios and Home

Well, it’s here. The final day. After gorging ourselves on some pretty damn good food (and some kind of crappy food), riding as many rides as we possibly could, going to bed late, getting up early, and walking thousands upon thousands of miles, it is time for the bliss to end.

Universal Studios is the objective today. With 3 p.m. dinner reservations and a flight to catch, we got the Express Pass again so as to get through all of the rides in time. I must say that it extremely satisfying to walk past tens and hundreds of people to get into the line at the beginning. There was only one line we had to actually wait, but I’ll get to that.

We were there early again and Universal was kind enough to let us in to the rides early. They are very nice that way. The first ride was Jimmy Neutron. An excellent 3-D, Star Tours-like ride. It incorporated most of the Nickelodeon cartoons.

We then did the Shrek 4-D show. I would say it is the best of all the 3-D shows in any of the parks. Second would be the one at the Magic Kingdom. It takes place between the first and second movies.

Lani and Parker then rode The Mummy. Parker didn’t want to go, but we made him. He came off crying. Most rides he didn’t want to ride he would want go back. Not this one. Good times, good times.

We then did Twister…Ride it Out. It was mostly standing around watching a demonstration of the big tornado scene in Twister while water dripped down my back. Lame.

We then ate at Mel’s Drive-In. While sitting there, some characters came out. The kids didn’t seem too interested in the Madagascar lion, but then I saw Hellboy and we left Lani at the table to get his autograph and picture. While there, the Scooby Gang was together and out, so we got theirs, too. After going back and finishing lunch, Lani took them to get the lion’s pic while I cleaned up from lunch.

After lunch, we went to Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone. While there, we rode E.T., a Woody Woodpecker rollercoaster (the kids and Lani rode it 3 times), and played at a playground where everything was gigantic.

Next was the Simpson’s Ride. It is a new ride this year and is absolutely fantastic. It is another ride where you sit in a “car” that shakes and tips while a video plays. This one had us surrounded by a video and dropping off of waterfalls, coasters, and more. It was easily the best ride of the day.

It started to rain at this point, so we went and to Men in Black. We had to get lockers for our packs and with our passes, we got out of the rain. In this one, we had to shoot aliens while in a car that would spin around. Kind of like the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disney.

Jaws reared it head next since the rain had ended. Parker was nervous/scared and Carmen was amused. “Ooh, look, Daddy! An animatronic shark coming out of the water.”

Disaster was kind of funny. There were some people that were selected to get filmed. It was incorporated into a disaster flick that was being made.

The last place to go was Terminator 3-D. What I remember was pretty good. It was a good mix and incorporation of 3-D and live action. I don’t remember all of it because I kept falling asleep. Good time, good times.

We then ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was ok, but no Fulton’s Crab House.

We then dropped off the car, took a shuttle to the airport, and waited for our flight. Linda picked us up in KC and took us home.

We are now home and done. The yard needs to be mowed. Any volunteers?
