The End of Break
After decimating the health of our family in Iowa with a four-year-old girl, it is time to go back to school.
What got accomplished?
- Living room, dining room, and kitchen were painted by Lani and her mother
- My laptop was beginning to crash, so it was reformatted to Ubuntu, thus requring me to take the plunge I have been trying to merely wade into.
- Kids have recovered from a bout with something flu-like (probably the flu, I guess)
- Most stuff has been put back into the painted rooms
- Christmas tree and lights have been put up. Decorations will need to be done over the next copule of days
I will still need to change all of the outlets and switches to white instead of what looks to be beige.
Just saw the weather! Woo-hoo! 55-degrees means I may be able to get the front yard mowed and the leaves mulched since I am not supposed to rake because of the new grass.
Well, the kids are better, Lani & I have not gotten sick, and it is time to go back. Time for bed.
Sickies and blog update
Well, Carmen is definitely better. Unfortunately, she passed it off to Parker and her Aunt Kara.
Parker was up for awhile last night purging himself of anything resembling nourishment. I noticed he had the corn at lunch like I did. Kara apparently bad enough to cancel the Jazzercise class she teaches this morning.
Lani, my parents, and myself have not felt anything. *knock on wood*
I think I may have settled on a theme for this site. There isn’t a lot of razzle-dazzle, but seems to do everything I want it to. Who knows? We’ll see if I stick with it.
Pics are up
I have updated the pics page with a plugin called Shashin. If I find something I like better, it may change (of course). Just to play with it, I’ll put one here:
Oh…and Parker is sick now, but Carmen is better. Pobrecito. No indoor game for him tomorrow.
Stuff
I hope the name of this post doesn’t become standard.
Carmen is sick. Up all night. Hurling yesterday. She seems to be doing better now, but she is really tired.
Everyone else is ok here in Urbandale, IA. I got to see a friend from HS that I haven’t seen for 17 years. Yep. Seventeen years. That is show long I have been out of high school. I was able to connect with him through Facebook.
Facebook has been an interesting experience so far. I have gotten a few friend requests where I am like “who is that?”. I even keep my senior yearbook on my computer desk so I can look people up I don’t remember. Especially females. They tend to change their name when they get married. How rude.
My computer is acting up. I need to try to make it through this summer. February at minimum. I really don’t want to get a new computer right now. I think it may be the power cord. Right now, I am just trying to back up everything I can. That is why I am having time to write this right now. As well as the fact that I was up at 4am.
New Blog and Website!!!
Yep. I’ve changed things up again. I have decided to go with WordPress for this site and am currently considering Joomla for the band site.
Now pardon me while I figure all of this out over Thanksgiving weekend.
