I had to get a new grill since when I went to open the lid on my old one yesterday, the entire top part of the grill attempted to escape its moorings.  This one was purchased at Lowes.  Click on it to see what was cooked for its first use.

Parker had several options for SAGE summer school themes.  He chose “Inventions/Spanish”.  No, they don’t do it together.  Half of the day is spent on inventions and the other half learning Spainsh.  Parker sure does love coming up with ideas.

“What the hell is that on his head” you ask?  Why, it is a portable hot dog cooker for when you go on walks with your mother and anticipate getting hungry somewhere along the way.

People say he is “gifted”.  I start believing them, but then Parker does something that makes me wonder.

He just did it again.

Parker & Lani were early to soccer practice on Wednesday, May 27th.  While waiting for practice to begin, they took turns shooting on each other in goal.  While Lani had to chase down an errant ball of Parker’s, he decided, as he is wont to do,  it would be a good idea to climb to the top of the goal.  Lani saw this and told him to get down.  As he attempted to get down, his foot became entangled in the net and brought the posts down on top his head.

Carmen & I met them at the NKC Hospital Emergency Room for a good time of sitting around.  While there were some tears on her part (for Parker), Lani handled the whole thing well, holding his hand while he was getting stuck, getting him to the hospital, and everything.  End result?  Eight staples to the head.  Most likely, he won’t be able to play in his tournament this weekend.

As we walked out of the ER, Parker asked, “Are you going to make fun of me or yell at me?”  I didn’t do a whole lot of either.  I was pretty much speechless.

Now, I just want to say, “Pull your head out, boy!”
